Hello everyone,
As we know that the placement cell of RLAC is organizing an internship fair on 9th and 10th April. They really worked hard and did a great job. For those who don't know, last year also they came up with a successful Internship fair. But are the companies good? are they worth it? How should you apply? What should you say at your Interview?
My name is Shubham Raj, Computer Science 3rd Year and I was selected for more than 6 different companies at last year Internship Fair. I would like to share a few details and experience.
Bring at least 10 copies of your resume and make it good. Dress confident, doesn't matter formal or not, though formal looks a bit better but confidence is the key.
Well, my personal opinion is to choose your campany wisely. They just try to use your as a resource and give little or no experience. They don't offer a good profile. Some have long working hours, most of them are unpaid and some are just NGOs.
For example, Eat My News was asking for Rs 100 to register for an unpaid internship, I mean really!
But still, something is better than nothing, right?
The second thing is to be confident, you would be asked simple questions like "What can you do for the company?" or "Tell us about yourself" and so on. You just have to hand over a copy of your resume and reply to the question calmly.
Do not forget to ask about job profile, work for the home option, job timings, stipend if any and any other query you might be having. It's your right.
Don't take too much pressure and work, Don't let the companies use you and in return, you get just a certificate. Go for an Internship which gives a real-life experience not just only an experience letter.
Talk to the college authorities if there's an issue or problem.
Hope this article helps you.
