Technology, a new way of life!
Nature, the very basic unit of our existence. And, technology, the
man-made way of existence. Both of these essential elements should
be kept care of. However, we see how our day to day living habits
are actually destroying the nature.
Since, the very beginning, man had nothing with himself but nature.
We came from nature, we lived in nature, we lived through nature,
we lived for nature. But, as the men kept growing and spreading, the
need for technology too became important.
Technology for good
“The science of today is the technology of tomorrow.” – EdwardTeller
Technology has both pros and cons. It connects us. Makes us feel
together even when we are miles apart. Technology is one of the
major reasons for the advancement of man. It educates us, makes
our life easier. The development of technology in our country is
somewhere directly proportional to the development of our nation.
Science and technology are even the main reason that has given
countries like China a considerable position in the world. It is through
technology that we get informed about the recent happenings in the
world which makes us aware of our surroundings. But for
technology, we wouldn’t have progressed so much. But, as we see it
taking everybody into its arms, we see how it is going on becoming
the inherent way of living our life.
“It has become appallingly obvious that our technology has exceeded
our humanity.” – Albert Einstein
It is very much evident how technology has become, from a way to
succeed and make life better, to a habit and today’s lifestyle’s definition. Phones have replaced the familial talks, the laughing, the spending of time with loved ones, the giggling, the quality time. Now,
we sit together in under one roof, but still apart, for we are more
into our cell phones and less into valuing the time we have got with
our people.
Affect on nature
Remember, going to the hills, spending time in nature, walking onwet grass? Not much apart from some planned vacations. Because,
today’s generation is busier in spending time on social media. A cell
phone with every individual is what will be seen if our ancestors time
travel to this generation. It would be shocking and disappointing for
everyone to know that our using cell phones and internet leads to
the death of some precious creatures, birds, that always added to
the beauty of our nature. Some of the species have even gone
extinct. Do we see birds as often as we used to see them before? Do
we hear a cuckoo now like we used to in every morning?
Food, air and oxygen are some of the basic necessities that human
requires and nature provides them to us. For once, we can think of
living without technology, but not without nature.
Cars are something that have crowded the roads more than the
people. The use of cars today, are a reason, why the air is getting
more and more polluted. The visibility is getting more and more
thwarted. Also, the noise pollution caused by this type of technology
is making deafness common and brain disturbed. It makes the
atmosphere more humid and suffocating. The very air we inhale is
polluted. Man is being ignorant about the mother Earth. Cars, are
not the problem. They just make our travelling easier. The problem is
the use of them which is totally controlled by men. Can’t we switch
to cycles and other eco friendly vehicles when it’s about travelling a
short distance, or rather go by foot? It is we, who need to take a
step.
As we are getting more and more advanced, we are hugging
technology and being ignorant about the nature. So, neither of them
is to be blamed. But it is we who are found guilty.
Today’s generation
Gadgets handed over into the hands of young and innocentgeneration of ours in actually creating havoc in humanity. We are not
making our children independent; we are rather making them
addicted. The childhood of the older people, with green fresh
environment to play in, highly contrasts with the world of games and
social media that our youth has become trapped in. A man played
PUBG, the most popular video game in today’s era, continuously for
6 hours and died of cardiac arrest. Isn’t that shocking? Playing
continuously on the mobile phones disturbs our motor nerves,
makes us irritated, affects our mind and psychology, rids us of our
peace and makes us detached from the real world. We don’t even
realize what the virtual world made by us is doing to us.
Children today have become physically inactive with improper
growth and development because now, they don’t play outdoor
games which makes them feel weak and delicate, get tired easily,
which invites diseases too.
The conclusion is that… rather than considering technology a
“villain”, we should rather look towards ourselves and understand
that we are the ones to limit the use of technology keeping in mind
the harm that might be caused to nature and we individuals.
